If the side support is wider than on the normal picture it is flat feet. Flat feet is the process of the long arches dropping/collapsing down and is a foot condition. There are four different degrees of flat feet. Degree 1 - slight, 2 - moderate, 3 - significant and 4 - extreme.
- Degree 1
- Degree 2
- Degree 3
- Degree 4
Symptoms of Flat Feet include sore long arch, soreness of the whole feet, sore and tired legs, sore knees. In extreme cases it can also affect other areas of the body like back and hips. Flat feet can lead to Plantar Fasciitis and pronation.
Many patients have two different degrees of flat feet (two different foot conditions), which affect all bones, joints and muscles and pulls them out of the correct alignment. The unbalanced condition can pull the joints out from the right alignment causing a rubbing/wearing process in cartilage, which can in some cases lead to hip and knee replacements.
The unbalanced condition can cause sore back and sore joints and even right up to the neck.

Normal Feet
Treatment: The built in module under the long arch in the patients Pedikom Orthotics will push up the collapsed bones in the long arch and will eventually restore the feet back to the normal condition. This correction process can be followed with check ups through our pressure map, where the wide side support will get thinner and thinner, until it is restored back to the normal side support condition.
